My name is Becky.
I’m currently an English teacher in Madrid through the Ministry of Education’s auxiliares program partnered with CIEE.
Alumna of Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Sometimes people ask me how it feels to graduate from the university with the longest name in the U.S. Answer: It feels about the same as graduating from any other university.
I have my MA in sports journalism, and a BA in both journalism and Spanish.
I’ve interned/worked with the Indiana Fever, Saturday Evening Post, Indianapolis Star, and the crowning jewel, the U.S. Olympic Committee as part of their digital communications team at the 2016 Rio Olympics (I know. I still can’t believe it myself). If you feel like it, you can check out my resume/portfolio site here.
I also worked as a Graduate Assistant/Campus Ambassador for Campus Visits for five years and it is the single best job I’ve ever had (sorry, journalism).
From that job I have received: nine free t-shirts, a fleece jacket, countless free meals, useless fun facts, and several close friends.
I love travel. Check out my bucket list and let me know your suggestions. I love going back to cities and discovering new things about them each time, so also check out my “completed” list.
I am a native Hoosier, avid Colts fan, lover of sunsets, probably not in that order. Currently I aspire to make everything on my Pinterest food board one day.
