Madrid Part 1

My first trip to Madrid was to meet up with my mom and cousin in mid-June. I can’t even begin to explain how amazing it was to see my mom for the first time since January!!!

We had a very hectic few days, but we still had time for siestas so all was well.

We went to the Reina Sofia and Thyssen art museums (they went to the Prado on their own before I arrived but I knew I was coming back before going to the states in July so I wasn’t concerned about it). We explored a bit of the Parque Retiro, an artisan market, the San Miguel market for dinner one night, the Plaza Mayor and Plaza de España, and many other little corners of Madrid.

While Madrid wasn’t “my” city, I enjoyed showing my cousin a little taste of Spain before she went home and a little preview for my mom before going south to Sevilla after Germany.
